BADMINTON ENGLAND INFORMATION & NEWS PAGE
BADMINTON England has been challenged to demonstrate an increase in participation figures over the next 12 months by its major funder, Sport England and in order to drive a change and increase participation, BADMINTON England are launching PlayBadminton.co.uk What is PlayBadminton.co.uk? PlayBadminton is a web based sign posting tool built upon existing data collation and search functionality powered by the Get Active project, Vision and No Strings Badminton database. It will allow us to gather all information about badminton opportunities in one place and offer those seeking badminton activities an easy way to search and find out what’s going on in their local community or area of interest. Users of the portal can search for badminton playing opportunities based on any number of factors, including geographic location, standard of play, facilities at a venue/club and activity type. We want PlayBadminton to attract a new audience of people who underestimate badminton as a sport. We want badminton to become a consideration in the range of sports they currently play. We want it to be seen as a sport that improves fitness, co-ordination and agility as well as strengthen muscles and relieves stress. We want it to be taken seriously and become more ‘cool’. We want our audience to get on court and play badminton! All your club contact information has already been automatically uploaded onto the site via Vision and we advise that in order to promote your club to best effect you may want to edit some of the information. If this is the case then you can do this easily by logging into the Club Online Wizard and edit your venue / contact information and this will then be changed on the site as and when we do our regular data updates. You can have a look at this exciting new website by visiting www.playbadminton.co.uk, find your club and you will notice that because you are an affiliated club you will carry the BADMINTON England logo and Premier Clubs will also have the Club Mark logo. We hope that by advertising your BADMINTON England affiliation people will recognise your club as an affiliated club and therefore be reassured that you follow the BADMINTON England rules and regulations and carry full insurance cover along with access to other benefits. As always, if you have any questions regarding this exciting opportunity then please feel free to contact the membership team on 01908 268400 or email playbadminton@badmintonengland.co.uk The new season is approaching fast and we are now preparing for 2011/12 renewals, we would like to inform you of some of the new changes. Hopefully you are all aware of the new membership scheme we have in place called Club England, this will not change the way Counties, Leagues and Clubs affiliate to BADMINTON England. Club England is a new look membership scheme which has allowed us to streamline the current membership design, which now consists of four main parts all under Club England. Please click here for more details. Good news, BADMINTON England affiliation fees have been frozen! For confirmation of the 2011/12 season fees please see below: BADMINTON England Affiliation fees (excluding County Fees): Senor Club Members (SCM) - £10.00 Junior Club Member (JCM) -£5.00 Junior Club fee - £48.20 Helper, Volunteer, Official (HVO) - £0.00 A number of developments and improvements are being made to the online wizards over the summer and we hope to release the wizards for 2011/12 affiliation early October. Notification will be sent to all Club, County and League Main Contacts nearer the time so please make sure we have appropriate contact information. New for 2011/12 - Not only will there be a new Club England look and feel to the online membership wizard but all officials will have the potential to have access to the online wizard this season. If you want more than just one person to have access to the wizard all you have to do is add them into the Wizard Administrator position whilst in the wizard. They too will then have access to view members, view coaches and the renewal process. In order to add a new member to the system or search for an existing member we do require some basic information (required fields) and these are; first name, surname, first line of address, post code and date of birth . The reason we ask for this information is to help with duplicate members and to stop them being added. When a member is added through the online system and is already on the data base the required fields help identify the individual on the required information and therefore a duplicate is not produced. In order for your members to receive their full BADMINTON England benefits it is important that we receive their email address as they will be sent information throughout the season via email. As soon as we receive your club documentation and payment all your active, affiliated members will be sent their own Welcome email and login details so they will be able to update their own personal details in a new online section for members. By giving the members access to their own information we hope to be able to collect more information including disability, ethnicity and privacy information whilst saving you time as they will have the ability to update their own information. Throughout the summer will shall be updating you regarding more developments to the online membership wizard but full help documents will be added to the website and there will be a new direct link to the documents direct from the wizard. There has been some confusion throughout the season regarding Team England and Great Britain players, looking forward to the coming season all players will be required to pay their BADMINTON England fees and County fees through their Master Club just like any other member, any players that do not play in a club will be required to pay their fees direct to BADMINTON England. Once clubs have been through the online system your club will show Payment Pending, once fees have been received and processed by the finance team your club will then show Active and your clubs insurance certificate will be sent. Your county should contact you in the near future regarding their county fees for the coming 2011/12 season. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Membership Diary which is on the BADMINTON England website; click here for all up to date information. Please feel free to forward this email to other officials within your club. We look forward to working with you for the coming season. |
